skytrex adventure@shah alam

woke up at 6.15am this morning for skytrekking (exclusive invitation...err, exclusive as in taking up the extra ticket booked by aunt to celebrate her daughter's bday haha). it was a smooth journey to Taman Pertanian Malaysia, Bukit Cahaya Seri Alam, Shah Alam via Federal Highway. Just follow the 'Taman Pertanian Malaysia' signboard after the Batu Tiga toll...However, you may need some techniques to ensure you do not get lost with the signboards: if you do not see any signage on Taman Pertanian Malaysia while you are at junctions, just go straight (that's what i learnt from years of driving in Malaysia :p)

the agriculture park was already packed with people around 8.15am! i didnt remember it was that crowded during my last visit in 2006 with colleagues (when we trip together 3)...those were good memories ;) oh my, it had been 5 years! and i was only 24 during that time!

it was such a nice plan to celebrate my cousin's birthday...25 pax including her friends n parents (yea, i was abit out of place with those teens but it was sort of like a family outing ;))... you'll be brought to the skytrex adventure site by tram, which is about 10 mins ride. Upon reaching there, go to the check-in hut to settle the documentations, take your gloves and head to the harness store to collect your harness. the staff will put it on for you, no worries ;)

the birthday gal's bro...

the birthday gal...

you'll be provided with basic training and demo on the equipment: carabiners and pulley... it's fun to watch those kids going through the challenges with full of energy and curiousity without fear ;) i almost passed out after one of the challenges (due to you-know-what) but i persevere to complete the challenges ;) flying fox was definitely my favourite moment!

we took the Little Adventure course (which we initially thought that would be too easy haha)

this is the starting point for the Big Thrill(and they have Extreme Adventure as well which has taller starting point):

it wasn't that easy to climb up the pvc staircase hehe....

seriously, it was really fun and exhilarating! over here, you are responsible for your own safety, even kids hv to do it on their own once they are on the real trek after completing the training.....the latest rate:
Little Adventure (LA) - RM 35.00
Big Thrill (BT) - RM 45.00
Extreme Challenge (X) - RM 50.00

off to bed now :p

Of snail mail

Eventhough email is a great tool and more practical in this era, I'm still more eager to receive snail mail compared to email.

I always wish to find my name on the envelopes when I collect mails from the mailbox. But to my disappointment, those are normally credit card bills or other letters from organizations.

So when I see these pink envelopes addressed to me, I was more than excited to read the content! 3 cny cards seems nothing as compared to the stacks of cards received during school days...but receiving 3 cny cards that cost 50 cents for postage fee currently is so precious to me haha.....

Thank you so much to those senders ;)

Great Day

Have you watched this Malaysian-made film 'Great Day' by Director Chiu Keng Guan? Make sure you watch it with your family, it would be more meaningful.... Get more details from here

While watching the movie, the late Yasmin Ahmad came into my mind.... I shed my tears, missing her great work....But I am glad that I have found another director who has her touch... Though she is irreplaceable, I just couldn't help comparing his movies with her movies.

He used the same casts for both movies, similar to her. Both of them like to portray the breathtaking sceneries in Malaysia especially padi fields. Both of them do not need posh and luxurious cars n houses for their storylines. Both of their dialogues n scenes are so Malaysian that you can connect to the movie instantly ;) and multi-racial elements were included naturally :)

And the best moment is my fear that she couldn't watch movie anymore is erased immediately when she states that she could watch clearly.... Perhaps that's the best new year gift ;)

morning rush moment...

december is my favourite month in terms of commuting to work.... less congestion, less pre-work stress, lower blood pressure (yea, i'm exaggerating) , thanks to the smoother traffic condition....

january may be the worst month of the year to commute to work... at least for me... connaught hiway@east-west link is flooded with more cars nowadays... i tried waking up earlier when the school reopened last week....it worked well, for 5 days i guess...but im just not a 6.30am-person :p

i enjoy early drive to work actually but too bad, im blessed with sound sleep every night :p i love the morning breeze, watching the market scene(i'll pass by a wet market before exiting to hiway) in the morning especially before 7am as it inspires me to work harder and think of those traders' hardship (they have to wake up even earlier than me!)...and the best part is i may hv the chance to witness the rising sun, through my side-view mirror as i head west on the east-west link....

another sunrise moment, captured at Cameron Highlands:

on unrelated note...im missing this moment, my sea-sick is getting more chronic! this is what happen being on the land for more than 2 months :p
